Odoo ERP for Solar Companies in Iraq
Odoo can connect a solar company’s enquiries, quotations, equipment purchasing, stock, installation tasks and accounting. The configuration should distinguish distribution, installation and EPC project work, because each has different fulfilment and acceptance requirements. Ever Digital maps those handoffs and the data needed for them. Engineering design, yield calculations, battery controls, telemetry, commissioning certification and specialist financing or project-contract rules require separate assessment.

Keep the approved solar offer connected to the equipment and work delivered.
A solar project moves through several decisions before installation: customer requirements, site information, an approved equipment specification, procurement, site readiness and the work itself. A sales quotation can be complete commercially while still lacking information that the purchasing or installation team needs.
The implementation should define what becomes authoritative at each handoff. Which equipment specification did the customer accept? Who approves a substitute? When can the installation be scheduled? Which evidence authorizes invoicing? Odoo can connect the records, but engineering design and technical acceptance must remain with qualified people and the appropriate specialist tools.

Choose the Odoo workflow for the solar business you operate.
A dealer selling equipment and an EPC contractor delivering a project share some commercial records, but their delivery process is not the same.
| Solar operating model | Core workflow | Additional decision |
|---|---|---|
| Solar dealers and distributors | Sales, Purchase, Inventory and Accounting. | Customer pricing, supplier references, equipment traceability and returns. |
| Solar installers | Equipment supply connected to customer-site tasks. | Site readiness, materials, installation evidence and service billing. |
| Solar EPC contractors | Commercial scope connected to project stages and procurement. | Changes, dependencies, milestones and contractual acceptance. |
| Renewable-energy companies with mixed offerings | Separate supply and service models by the actual work. | Identify which specialist engineering and monitoring systems remain connected. |
Capture the approved scope without pretending the ERP is a design tool.
CRM can organize enquiries and survey follow-up; Sales can record the accepted equipment and services. Decide where the survey output, design revision and customer-approved offer are stored, and which version purchasing and field teams should use. A change in equipment or scope should have a clear owner and acceptance record.
Odoo is not presented here as a solar yield simulator, electrical design package or engineering certification system. If those tools provide calculations or drawings, identify the approved outputs that the business needs to reference. An attachment can preserve a document, while controlled design revisions and formal approvals may require additional workflow design.
Recommended Odoo apps
| Odoo app | Why this app | Example in your business | Scope |
|---|---|---|---|
| CRM | Manage enquiries, survey follow-up and commercial opportunities. | Track a solar enquiry until the approved scope is ready to quote. | Custom or optional |
| Sales | Record equipment, installation and the agreed billing basis. | Separate supplied equipment from installation or project services. | Standard Odoo |
| Purchase | Source equipment and materials against the approved requirement. | Order the specified inverter and record a supplier-proposed alternative. | Standard Odoo |
| Inventory | Track equipment and job material movements. | Receive serial-tracked equipment and issue materials to an installation. | Standard Odoo |
| Project | Organize EPC or installation stages and responsibilities. | Track procurement readiness and site-work tasks for a project. | Custom or optional |
| Field Service | Manage customer-site installation and service tasks. | Assign an installation visit with the required site and work information. | Custom or optional |
| Accounting | Connect costs, invoices, payments and finance review. | Reconcile the agreed milestone invoice and imported equipment costs. | Standard Odoo |
Availability depends on the Odoo edition, hosting and subscription. Configuration, data migration and training are implementation work. Specialist connectors and extensions require a separate scope.
Procure the accepted equipment and preserve its identity.
Product references should distinguish the modules, inverters, batteries and installation materials your business actually stocks or purchases. Variants and serial tracking can be useful where the item requires them. Supplier codes and lead times should be maintained by purchasing, with an agreed procedure for shortages and proposed substitutes.
A project may need all major components before installation can begin. Receiving one high-value item is not necessarily sufficient readiness. Test the process for a partial receipt, a missing accessory and equipment redirected to another job. The warehouse movement and project decision should remain explainable rather than being corrected later through ad hoc stock adjustments.

Solar installers: turn the offer into prepared site work.
Field Service and Project can organize installation tasks, assignments and recorded effort. The job should include the site, approved scope, access information, required materials and the completion evidence used by the business. Decide how equipment delivery, installation progress and a return visit are represented.
Materials issued to the job, consumed on site and returned unused need an agreed inventory process. Worksheets can structure the field record through Studio, subject to plan and configuration. Technical testing, commissioning and customer handover may require specific documents and qualified review; an ERP task marked complete is not itself a commissioning certificate.
Solar EPC contractors: keep project stages and commercial changes visible.
An EPC project may span design coordination, procurement, site preparation, installation and acceptance. Project can organize tasks and responsibilities, while Sales and Accounting provide the commercial records. Define which milestones are meaningful to the business and how a delayed dependency affects the next stage.
A customer-requested change can alter materials, effort and billing. Agree the approval and variation process before work starts. Retention, progress certificates, liquidated damages, subcontractor payment rules or specialist project-cost reporting are not assumed to be covered by a generic milestone setting; they require sample contracts and a specific scope.
Battery, energy-storage and inverter suppliers: separate stock traceability from operating telemetry.
These businesses may sell equipment only or combine it with installation and later service. Their product and after-sales records need to reflect that distinction.
- Maintain the exact model, capacity or configuration that defines the sellable item, with required supplier and serial references.
- Define how replacement units, returns and warranty enquiries refer to the original delivery.
- Assess battery-management, inverter monitoring and remote telemetry interfaces separately; inventory serials do not establish a live equipment connection.
- Keep technical operating limits, storage requirements and safety decisions with the responsible specialists and approved manufacturer information.
- If service is included, define customer-site tasks, authorization and billing separately from the equipment sale.
Make project cost a defined reporting question.
A solar business may need to understand equipment cost, job materials, recorded time and additional project charges. These inputs come from different operational records. Decide whether the required view is a product margin, a sales-order result or a broader project cost report, and test how each input is captured.
For an Iraq operation purchasing in foreign currencies, finance should approve company currency, exchange rates, stock valuation and reconciliation. Odoo documents multi-currency and landed-cost capabilities, but their configuration and accounting treatment must be verified. Local statutory reporting, financing arrangements and payment-provider integrations remain separately assessed requirements.
Pilot a complete solar job and its first after-sales request.
The most useful pilot follows the same customer commitment across commercial, purchasing, warehouse, project and finance teams.
- Clean customers, sites, equipment references, suppliers and any required serial identifiers.
- Agree the treatment of open quotations, procurement, installations and customer deposits at cutover.
- Test a changed equipment item, partial receipt, site-readiness review and materials issued to installation.
- Record work completion, unused-material return and the intended milestone or service invoice.
- Open a later service request and verify that the relevant customer, equipment and delivery context can be found.
Choose a connected operating scope before adding specialist tools.
Ever Digital can map the Odoo workflow and assess where Ever Solar or other specialist systems belong in the wider solution. A connection must have a defined source of truth, supported interface and tested error handling. The existence of two products does not by itself mean every project uses a ready-made integration.
Bring a solar quotation, equipment list, installation record and billing example to the assessment. We can separate standard apps, configuration, optional tools and custom work, then define migration and acceptance. Current package pages hold standard fees and inclusions; EPC controls, telemetry and complex project requirements are scoped against the actual work.
Questions businesses ask
Can Odoo support solar equipment trading as well as installation?
Yes. The trading foundation can use Sales, Purchase, Inventory and Accounting, with Project or Field Service added for installation work. Delivery, site completion and billing should be tested as distinct events.
Does Odoo calculate solar yield or design the electrical system?
No specialist engineering functionality is promised here. Approved outputs from the appropriate tools can be referenced in the commercial and project workflow, with technical responsibility remaining clearly assigned.
Can we track inverters or batteries by serial number?
Odoo supports serial tracking. The receiving, delivery, replacement and service-context requirements should be defined and tested. Serial tracking does not itself provide telemetry or warranty entitlement.
Can Odoo manage EPC milestones?
Odoo has documented milestone invoicing and project capabilities. The exact project stages, acceptance rules, changes, retention and contract certificates require assessment against your agreement.
Will it connect to inverter or battery monitoring systems?
A connection depends on the provider interface, available data, access terms and required workflow. No universal telemetry connector is assumed. Integration scope includes data ownership and failure handling.
How does Ever Solar fit with Odoo?
Ever Solar can be discussed as part of a wider solution where its current capabilities fit your needs. Any integration and source-of-truth rules must be reviewed for the project rather than assumed from the product names.
